6 easy steps using your Website & Social Media to gain Sales.

6 easy stepsWe have seen an increase in small businesses wanting a new website designed (where have they been all these years? – I hear you ask!) They have wanted a way of changing the content – so we have given them a Content Management System to change their content.  They have been too busy to do it themselves, so we have done that for them too. Once their beautiful new website is online they think the sales will come flooding in. Wrong. No longer can you think of a website as some glossy brochure. It is a living and breathing marketing tool, that change like the words people type into Google every day and you have to change it too. This is where linking your social media channels to your website (with pertinent content) , having a news section that is regularly updated will help your website get noticed by the search engines and hence by your potential customers.

Here are 6 recommended steps to help achieve new sales using your Website and Social Media Platforms.

  • 1. Add a news/offers section to all the pages of your website. You can easily update it on a regular basis. Add a small image for visual variety. Link Facebook, Twitter, You Tube, Blog to your website.
  • 2. Set up a Facebook account. Tie in logos with your website to keep your branding uniform. You will need about 30 likes in order to change the URL name so people can easily search for your page & also it allows you to see insights into consumer interactivity.
  • 3. Set up a Twitter Account. Again create an avatar and background profile keeping your branding uniform.  Search for local and influential businesses with Twitter accounts. Chamber of Commerce organisations and local businesses with a good quality following are useful to connect with. Remember tweet a message that will be useful to your followers – never do a hard sell and try and help others in your community . Remember the old saying, ” you scratch my back I will scratch yours”.  Tweet your messages and link further information to your Facebook, Website and Blog accounts.
  • 4. Set up a blog. Wordpress blogs, like this one are very useful and easy to use. Link your tweets regularly to your blogs.
  • 5. If you have built up a client emailing list – send out a regular e-newsletter. Not only can you keep them up to date with  your news, you can also let them know you are still in business!!
  • 6. Set up a You Tube account. A visual account of the services or product you sell is an excellent way of showing your potential customer what it is you provide.

These are basic steps and they are all interlinked from the heart; your website. It can be a time consuming task but if you are organised your actions will pay off.  However, do not lose sight  of  your main goal, and that is to get business that turn into sales.  It can be very easy to get involved in the “conversations” and end up achieving nothing. You still have the phone at your disposal and sometimes a simple phone call is all that it takes to convert a conversation into cash.
